I live in a town so small there's no foot traffic to speak of, however, we're about 5 miles from the county seat. What's the best way to scout locations? Do a bunch of cold calls? Keep it on private or public property? There's a university there as well, but like you said, summer's coming. I have not yet scouted vending machines, but I intend to.

It's really hard to say considering I'm not as familiar with your current location / circumstance. However, I'd look for where people are parking other vending machines (stores, apartments, schools, offices, etc.) near you and then go on the offense for similar spots. Does this work?

Yes, well, it certainly gives me a place to start. First I'll have to cost all this out, then I'll be looking for landing places.

Speaking of which, I noticed Starbucks had a barista in the parking lot with a tablet this morning (a la Dutch Bros). I bought 90 shares of BROS a few weeks ago. Things are moving along.

Hey guys,

Would you buy the machine first or find your fist location?

Great question. Definitely find the location - the location and foot traffic determines the type of machine you'll be purchasing. The last thing you want to do is purchase a machine too small for the amount of foot traffic and be stuck refilling it 3X per week.
